Last Saturday Dad took the time and loaded us 5 kids in “the big white truck” and took us out to Dunkin Donuts.  We ate our dozen of chocolote glazed and chocolate creme filled (personal favorites) on the way to Cinema where Dad treated us to a movie. It was a really fun Saturday and I know we will always remember it! Love you Dad.

Cheese Cake

IMG_8807Our family loves to eat out. We espicially have some favorite restaurants. One of them being The Cheese Cake Factory. It is an amazing place. We usually go there and eat dinner than eat a cheese cake. Me, always getting the largest chocolate one they have. Dad takes us here on special occasions. I just can’t wait till we go again.. (this picture was taken in Skokie, Illinois in celebration of Mom being the winner of the “on-line” voting competition for Mrs International.

As Brittany said, we went on a road trip with dad. One of our stops was Cleveland because my dad had scheduled a presentation there and he was giving it at a super cool bowling alley! The Corner Alley While my dad was giving his presentation downstairs my siblings and I got to bowl the whole day! I only got 1 stike and 23 spares.. ;) I had a great time and so did my siblings. Have a Go0d day!!

This last week as my Mom was in Chicago for the Mrs. International Pageant my Dad took us on a road trip including some places he stopped to give presentations. One day we were able to bowl at a beautiful hip bowling alley for 5 hours!  We were able to drive up and meet Mom in Chicago after several days of  fun travelling. I’m glad my Dad took the longer way (instead of us all just flying out or driving up in one day) because that was the more fun way. Haha thanks for taking extra time with us Dad.

October 2008 074Every Halloween we know Dad has something up his sleeve. We tell him what we want to be and he creates it. He picks out the clothes and he does our face paint to look exactly what we want it to look like. We spend at least an hour doing my face paint. Josh goes to his friend’s house to trick-or-treat. Dad and I go to a movie all dressed up. It is so fun to be with Dad while dressing up for it. I can’t wait till October.

A while ago our family flew to Florida to go to the Sun Destin Beach. We  swam, went around town, ate delicious sea food, laughed a lot, and did all the stuff you do when you go to the beach! My favorite part of the whole trip was eating coconut shrimp! It has been my favorite food ever since. After the trip all of us had a darker skin tone and our eyes were pink from the salt ocean water. My second favorite part was going to the beach at night with my older brother and sister, Jake and Brittany, we just run on the shore as fast as we could and as far away from our beach condo as we could and then we raced back. Great trip!

Road Trip :)

IMG_2072

Last year Dad decided that instead of flying in and out of Atlanta he would turn his next several presentations into a road trip and bring his family along. I honestly don’t remember what happened in which states or who we met in the states or even the exact states we went to. But I do remember Dad speaking to a bunch of teachers at an elementary school, I remember going to a quilt museum, a hellicopter museum, and a place where they make RVs for celebrities.  I love when Dad takes us on trips like these.

A Journey with Dad

Our yard has a spot in it where tall weeds and thorns grows as fast as anything. The mower worked once but didnt stop them from growing. We have some neighbors that own about 20 goats and since dad said goats eat anything they could help clear out some of our yard.   So, we go down to our neighbors and ask about the goats and they say we can have one if we can catch one. So we go back and get changed into our “wrestling goat clothes”. Dad and I go down there and prepare to fight a goat. The neighbor sprinkles a little food and a large goat comes.  So just like that we capture the goat, and tie it up and put it in the truck.  It was surprisingly easy. I spoke too soon.

So we drive back home and into all the weeds. We tie a rope to a near by tree and then to a collar we bought for this goat. We untied the goat and waited for it to jump out of the truck. It jumped out of the truck. In one jump it was free of its collar. It had broken the clip on the collar and was now running deeper into the woods. Dad and I took running after it. After a while of us almost catching it we soon didn’t know where it went. All we knew was that it was trying to get back home but its path to home was blocked by a creek (we were now deep in the woods). Me, wearing shorts this whole time, had scratched up my legs pretty bad. We decided to go home and tell the family and also change into some pants and get some more ropes. Once we had sighted the goat we tried to corner the goat but it kept running through us. It had the advantage of not having to deal with thorns and branches because just like a deer, it could leap right over them. We chased it back and forth, it would go somewhere then go back and then forward over and over again. It led us to a huge swamp. This goat was really getting annoying. It somehow crossed a mud river with out me noticing, I ran through this knee-deep-mud-river and continued to chase the goat. My job was to chase the goat around to my Dad who was hiding behind a tree waiting. Finally the pesty goat got stuck in some of the mud. My Dad was able to grab it and tie the rope around its neck. Now, by this time we had been running in circles for a few miles. We had no clue where we were. So we just continued to walk with the goat who was trying to escape. Finally we reached a neighbor hood. I had to stay with the goat while my Dad walked all the way home to get his truck. We got it home and tied a collar of rope around its neck. This is an experience that I’ll never forget–interesting summer memory. Dad and I washed off and just laughed about it afterward. It was fun but really annoying chasing that goat. Even though it was hard I’m glad we had this experience and now cherish the memory.  I love it!

IMG_0290  My name is Brooklyn and I’m 6 years old.  Yesterday I went on a date with my Dad to do “boring stuff”.   We had to go to Home Depot, the Gas Station, the bank, a storage unit and some other stuff.  I kept begging Dad to please go to Dunkin Donuts but we didn’t.  Dad said to trust him and that like we always do on our dates, we would do something fun.  After what seemed like forever we finally got through with all the boring stuff and went to get an ice cream cone.  Later that night when Dad was putting me to bed and we were talking about our “favorite” moments and memories of the day, he said his favorite was just having me go with him to do the boring stuff.   My favorite part of the day was just being with him too.  Dad always says “It’s not what you do as much as it’s who you are with”  I agree with that .. and I love being with my Dad no matter what we do.   But getting ice cream is still one of the best things you can do.   ~ Brooklyn

Hello! Brittany and Jake speaking.

texas 023

Last Saturday we got a text message from our Dad asking if we would like to go to Austin with him the next day. Of course the two of us said YES!  So Sunday night Jake and I flew up and met my Dad in the beautiful city of Austin.  The next day we were able to listen to my dad present and shake hands with many of the wonderful people who came to be apart of the conference that week.

The next three days we got to hear parts of his presentations, meet more people, and also tour around Austin.  Monday night we got to go to the famous “bat bridge” where one of the world’s largest bat colonies are.  Once the sun went down millions of bats flew from under the bridge. Fascinating.  The bats were cool, but it wasn’t seeing the bats that made it fun. It was being there together.

We also got to eat at two of our many favorite resturaunts, Cheesecake Factory and P.F. Changs– mmmmm heaven. While we were waiting for one of those resturaunts to open my Dad took us on a drive to a park.  We walked around and skipped rocks across the lake and also got to jump on some of the large rocks that followed the path.

Dad talks about the five languages of love: touch, words, gifts, time, and acts of service (or something like that) for me, Brittany, I’d have to say my language of love is food.  ;)

We love going on trips with our dad, they really are the best. We will never forgot our trip with dad to Texas. Thanks so much for such a memorable wondeful trip, Dad! We love you.
